Hip Hip Theatre Sneak Preview Performance
East London West Sydney is here and set to shake things up. A major hip hop theatre project, East London West Sydney aims to cross language and cultural barriers, blending spoken word, drama, music and movement in a seriously cool celebration of urban culture.

Being made possible by a partnership between ICE and the British Council, East London West Sydney is designed to explore themes relating to the urban experience, everyday struggles, identity and the individual’s place in society.
While focusing on word flow, storytelling and movement, the personal experiences of each of the artists, from a range of different cultural backgrounds, will inspire the performances.
Kicking off with an innovative online collaboration between the organisers and artists, some of London’s and Sydney’s established hip hop stars have now embarked on the creative development phase to devise what is set to be an amazing hip hop theatre experience.
The East London West Sydney artists will present a ‘work-in-progress’ performance on August 18 2009 for potential local and international sponsors, presenting partners and community members.
From here, the artists will be working towards the major production and performance season set to take place in early 2010.
